GREG YOUNG has been editing for over 20 years and has worked on commercials, PSAs, and videos for such clients as Mattel, Interscope Records, and Chevron. Greg holds a BA in Film & Video from Penn State. His career took off in San Francisco where he worked for a small industrial production company and got to try on all the various hats of production and post. He later worked in various positions and taught non-linear editing classes at the Academy of Art College.
Upon moving to the Los Angeles area, Greg's work opened up to wider venues as freelance work allowed him to explore the industry. His television work includes shows for E! Network, Nickelodeon, and the Fashion Channel. Since coming to Venice Beach Editorial, he has worked on campaigns for Nissan, Infiniti, PlayStation, Visa, Pedigree, NKLA, Sara Lee, Gatorade, and the Grammys.
Over time Greg honed his editing skills to present a clear message with deft cuts and a good beat. His wry sense of humor feeds his comedic timing, and he makes dialogue flow. His childhood music lessons were not a total loss, as his work is now infused with a strong sense of harmony and counterpoint. Greg's work for Gatorade's "Replay" project started as an online series chronicling high school sports teams' reunion games after 10-15 years, but went on to spawn a television series on Fox Sports Network and is in negotiations for a feature film. Greg is known for being able to deliver a message with flair and a keen eye for the "meat" of the shot.
